MY PROBLEMS WITH A DIFFERENT FLAG STAND:
I have another flag stand where the pole screws together (the pole is 2 pieces). It does not have the rubber stopper or the wind clip. These are problems that I will detail a bit. That pole screws together and the garden flag acts like a sail. When the wind blows the wind causes the pole to rotate. Almost everyday I would have to screw it back together. Another problem is that the flag comes off the stand even though it has a curled end.
WHY I CHOSE THIS FLAG STAND:
1.) it comes with an American flag garden flag, 2.) it has a rubber stopper to prevent the flag from coming off of the pole and 3.) the anti-wind clip was a nice bonus
SO DOES IT ACTUALLY WORK WELL/FRUSTRATION FREE?
Despite this being a flag stand that screws together, I haven't noticed that the flag pole turns at all, even in potting soil. We had 40 mph winds 2 days ago. The flag pole did not rotate at all. The flag did come out of the anti-wind clip that day, but that was the first time that has happened since I've owned it. The rubber stopper did a great job of keeping the flag from coming off too. That was so frustrating to me with my other pole. I like the anti-wind clip. I think it will prevent, or at least delay, a flag from fraying at the ends as it whips in the wind. The only downside (to me) is that this flag stand is slightly undersized compared to some others. However, it's not a big concern either. I really like the way it looks in a flower pot though it would be just fine in the garden, by the mailbox, etc.
CONCLUSION
Overall, this flag pole has been what I had hoped it would be. The flag did come out of the anti-wind clip, but that doesn't affect the functionality of the flag or pole at all. It was extremely windy that day, so it's not a big deal to me. Otherwise, I have had nothing but a good experience from this.
