UNKNOWNS:
o I have not yet run out of batteries, so I can't comment on batteries life. My other soap dispenser has a large, blinking red light and it's lasted 2 months without a replacement of batteries. If I had to guess, I would say this dispenser would last longer, but time will tell. FYI, the listing says it will last 840 hand washings or 1 year. That might be a bit high, but I we'll see. Feel free to comment below at a later date and I can give you an update (if I forget to post an update).

REVIEW:
Personally, I prefer foaming soap over liquid hand soap. It's gentler on my hands, the soap doesn't slide off your hands and clump up in your sink like liquid hand soap tends to do. For that reason, I specifically researched and ordered this foaming soap dispenser. I use this dispenser at the kitchen sink. For that reason, I can not comment on how well the wall mount and tape work. However, I like that the dispenser doesn't go off when you are washing dishes or happen to wave your hand near it. It goes off only when you are inches away, which is only when you make a deliberate attempt. In other words, it's not annoyingly overly sensitive but it's easy enough to get soap when you want it.

CONCLUSION:
Overall, this soap dispenser works quite well! Two points for consideration for users looking to buy this dispenser: 1.) I wish it was a bit more elevated to prevent water pooling underneath (and potentially mold growth), and 2.) it is a bit wider (4.7") than necessary. If you have the space, the width may not matter. If you have tight quarters, you might seek a thinner design. Besides those two considerations, I have no reservations about this soap dispenser. It works quite well for me!
